Welcome!  Wagait Shire is a local government body formerly called Cox Peninsula Government Council.Wagait Beach is on the Cox Peninsula, just west of Darwin. Wagait Beach is named after the Wagait Tower, which was constructed during World War II, and overlooked the beach. The tower was destroyed by Cyclone Tracy in 1974. |
