WAGAIT SHIRE MEMORIAL GARDEN
OFFICIALLY OPENED 26 JULY 2014 BY GARY HIGGINS, MLA
Wagait Beach is on the Cox Peninsula, just west of Darwin.
Wagait Beach is named after the Wagait Tower, which was constructed during World War II, and overlooked the beach. The tower was destroyed by Cyclone Tracy in 1974.
RESIDENTS OF WAGAIT BEACH
You are invited to a community meeting to discuss
"THE FUTURE OF OUR SHIRE"
This meeting is a chance for residents to discuss our options. There will be no outside speakers.
TUESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER, 2014 IN THE COUNCIL COMMUNITY CENTRE AT 7.00PM
The council is also preparing a survey to get feedback from residents on this issue. You will be able to complete this survey online between 1-11 September. Please email Pam at the council at firstname.lastname@example.org and make sure she adds you to her "Resident's e-list". This survey will be available at the shop and council offices from September 1 for those who want to fill out a paper version. It will also be at the meeting.
This meeting is designed to discuss options around amalgamation/boundary expansions/keeping current boundaries. A separate general residents meeting is being planned for October where residents can raise other issues they want to bring to Council's attention.
